Alvin Community College (Alvin,Texas) will start offering a Pharma Tech degree starting fall 2012. The college already has a certification program for Pharma Techs. The schools hopes that the degree will give students an edge when seeking a Technician position.
“They can move from starting out as a basic pharmacy tech to management in retail pharmacies, as well as hospitals,” said Rhonda Boone, ACC pharmacy technician department chair, via a press release.
